We uploaded files on July 28, 2026, and August 2026. They have undergone initial validation but are still awaiting processing. These are our first attempts at uploads. Is this to be expected? Attempts to reach MOTUS support by email and phone have not elicited any response. Does anyone have any advice for us newcomers?
Hi Denise, this is consistent with the current backlog situation as described here: Update: Status of Motus Data Uploads - Infrastructure Maintenance and Improvements. At the moment, the backlog is about 5 weeks, so the uploaded files should be processed within a week or two
Dear Denise, If you urgently need data, you have folowing options:
- If using Sensorgnome, you can learn it a tag database, so you can see your bird detections live.
- the Motus algorithm is open source. With your tag database you can run it on your own computer to detect your birds. We did it for data analysis problems that are already many month to years old and can apparently not fixed by Motus Central. This Method is not at all the way how Motus was intended as a collaborative System, but currently sadly the only method gaining your own data fast and reliable.
The Situation is frustrating all Motus users at the moment, so you are not alone!
