Station Imaging with new Raspberry Pi Imager

Has anyone successfully used the new version of the Raspberry Pi Imager to update a Sensorstation?

yes, mac version, ive done about 6 cm modules recently. its a bit different but seems to work fine. are you having issues?

Do make sure to download the latest image from CTT. They updated it a few days ago on their website.

I am using Raspberry Pi Imager v. 1.9.6 for Windows. There were some differences with the previous version but I have been able to re-image the SD cards with the latest sg.v2 software. Let me know if I can help.

Thanks. Yes, the imager was not finding the device (a sensorstation).

It appears that the current version is 2.0.6. I need to do bit more testing to see if the issue is with with security controls on my particular machine or not. I was wondering if anyone out there has used this version to install a new image on a sensorstation.

As for the latest image, I downloaded it on Wednesday- I will redownload before I try again.

Thanks for the input!

Im using Imager V2.0.6 on Mac OSX. Im unclear what you mean by not finding ‘the device’ in my experience -

  • pwr off the station, check the ‘USB boot’ jumper, hookup the microUSB cable
  • run the rpiboot progam, then switch on the station and wait about 15 seconds for the ‘Bootserver’ to start.
  • open the Raspberry Imager.
  • it should open to the “Device” tab on the sidebar - but you DO NOT select anything from the Devices list here.
  • go immediately to the “OS” tab (left sidebar), click it and scroll down the list to “Use Custom”. Then find and select your station image file using the find file dialog popup.
  • afrer clicking ‘Next’ it should automatically jump back to the “Storage” item (left sidebar) where you should see your RPi-MSD-0001 Media. This is the SensorStation’s Compute Module. - select it and then proceed to Writing to it. Are you seeing something different than the above workflow?
