Sensorgnome Audio + V2?

Did anyone consider adding audio to a V2 sensorgnome? I am building a portable SG to be used with a handheld directional antenna and a wifi-connected smartphone, and it would be nice to be able to hear the change in amplitude while turning the antenna.

This was possible (sort of-) in the V1 software (the “listen” button).

Any easy way to pass on the audio from an FCD to the raspberry PI 3B(+) audio output or to the smartphone directly?

I use an unmodified Funcube pro with SDR Console V3 soft ware on my lap top. I can get audio and a spectrum showing signal strength. Contact me at pollockgc@gmail.com for more details

Thanks for the info. You are right, that solution works well.

However, I don’t want to bring a laptop in the field, so I am looking for a more compact solution. The Pi3 has an audio output, so it would be a matter of routing the USB audio from the FCD to that output.

I am a radio engineer, unfortunately not a Linux nerd, so I am not sure how to create that connection. ;-)

I might add that I build my own sensorgnome stations, much smaller than the commercial versions.

Not a software guy either. Fifty year as electronic technician and ham. I am having fun setting up motus receive using CTT. Have done seven so far. There are many sharp technical people working with Motus. We should form some type of discussion group.

Is this what is was for? I’ve seen that code and it’s still in there but wasn’t working anymore. I suppose the best would be to pipe the audio to the web browser, no? Then you hit the button on your phone (or laptop) and listen?

This was at least what I used it for ;-) Good to know if you have a tag signal present, but too weak to be detected.

Not a big thing, you could always bring a scanner, but since the audio is already there I thought it might be doable to get it to a speaker somehow (my Linux skills are a bit weak though…).
