Reserve open to establishing Motus projects in Guatemala

Dear all,

I was recently contacted by Heidi Pasch from Finca La Gracia on the Pacific slope of Guatemala, where a Motus station was installed in 2021 (see https://motus.org/data/receiverDeploymentDetections?id=8365). Heidi is interested in connecting with researchers who want to carry out Motus based projects on her property, which has a high abundance of wintering migrants and is also heavily used by several species during stopover (especially SWTH, see detections on the receiver!). During surveys carried out by SELVA’s Neotropical Flyways Project in spring 2022, we recorded high densities of Least Flycatcher, Painted Bunting, Swainson’s Thrush, Tennessee Warbler, Orchard Oriole, Baltimore Oriole and Western Tanager among 43 migratory landbirds recorded.
