UPDATE (09-12-24): The bug has been squashed. The current LTS disk image for V2 and V3 stations is V1.3.0 and is available now via the link below.
UPDATE: We have found a bug in the LTS disk image for V2 stations with attached cellular modems. We are working on a fix now but do not recommend flashing the LTS disk image onto V2 stations until we’ve patched the issue. Apologies for the inconvenience.
Hello Motus Users!
We are ramping up to move the BETA SensorStation Disk Image to the LONG TERM STABLE position, but would love for some more folks to download, install, and test, the BETA image beyond our office walls. If you have one or more stations handy, please consider flashing the BETA disk image onto your station(s) and giving it a whirl! Note, you’ll have to also update the radio firmware once you do- but that’s as easy as using the LCD menu, or if you’re directly connected to the station, the push-button in the GUI on the SensorStation Interface. Kudos to Meelyn Pandit who has worked really hard to add so much functionality to the LCD menu (I personally LOVE this), and Bob Fogg for his general wizardry and all the days spent optimizing the station for FunCube Dongles, even when it means breaking and rebuilding so much functionality!
Directions for Flashing your Pi with the latest disk image is here: Flashing your SensorStation’s Compute Module
In addition to a massive upgrade to general functionality, the new disk image offers support for the new BlūSeries Receivers, for detecting BlūSeries 2.4GHz tags, as well as the new V3 Node which detects both 434MHz and 2.4GHz tags. Anyone deploying new stations, or in a position to upgrade their station in the near future should consider flashing the new disk image on their station to make it the most compatible with emerging technology.
All feedback is welcome and encouraged!
Cheers and Happy Tracking,
David
