Mobile Motus station with Sensorstation

Hi there,
I will be attempting to set up a sensorstation and antenna on a plane, with the intent to have it running during other plane based wildlife surveys. I have reached out to CTT because I understand that at a minimum, the sensorstation will need to take more frequent GPS fixes. Anything else I should be thinking about?

I’d place the SS in a metal enclosure for shielding.

If you put the station in a metal box, you’ll have to get an external GPS antenna (such as this one: https://a.co/d/b1h9brC).

Another comment from the peanut gallery: think about vibration. I’d pay attention to the USB connectors: depending on orientation these could come loose or create intermittent contact. If you plug dongles into the SS USB ports you might find a way to mount some rubber bands to ensure they don’t fall out, or put a miniature clamp on each USB connector to cinch it tight.
