How to download with wifi

What is the format of the USB drive that one can used to down load wifi name and password. on CTT V3 . I keep getting errors. I checked and my json file on the json webpage and it tested ok. Software drive me nutz.

Glenn - can you clarify - it sounds like may be attempting to upload your WiFi credential to your SensorStation via the USB port as described in section 16.3 of the CTT SensorStation Guide? If so - Ive done this in the past using a usb driver formatted FAT-32. Its important for your usb drive to be 32Gb or less. If USB larger than 32Gb then it would need to be formatted “ExFat” but I have not tried to do one on a CTT station - I could try that and get back to you if thats an issue for you.

Correction… newer installation manual from CTT covers this topic in Section 17.2 (not 16.3). and states USB drive formats FAT32 and MS-DOS are supported. So USB drives > 32GB that requre ExFat format likely may not work…

Glenn,

We recently created a YouTube video describing how we connect a Sensorstation to WiFi here at Bird Conservancy of the Rockies. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zYWCpyaXaXo&t=21s In the video, we used a program called Putty (https://putty.org/) but using the Windows Powershell program will work the same way. If you’re on a Mac, use Terminal.

Personally, I’ve never had great success using the thumb-drive method. Probably because of improper formatting!

Hope this helps!
Matt

Sorry for the late reply. FAT32 is the format of choice.

Cheers
