How to access the old tracks and maps tools from the new Explore dashboard

Just curious if the feature that creates tracks will be available in the new design. I currently can’t find it anywhere, but I really like that feature for my keeping tabs on my animals, and also wanted to use recordings of the track animations in an upcoming talk! If it’s just in the old features page that isn’t currently up, I can check again tomorrow, but wanted to flag it as a really helpful tool I’d like to have access to. Thanks!

Hi Gabe, the intention is to retain all the functionality of the old site for the forseable future – at least until everything is replicated on the new site.

When you load the new Explore dashboard, there will be a message containing a link to the “Old explore pages”. That should bring you where you want to go. This will also likely work better on poor internet connections than the new Explore dashboard. Note that you may have to clear your browser cache first! At least on my own browser, I didn’t see the new welcome screen until I had done so.

All the old links should still work if you’ve bookmarked them. And if you’re looking for the tool to create custom tracks, that’s here: Motus Wildlife Tracking System. I always had a hard time finding it on the old site so make a bookmark for it a while ago!

I find the new web totally confusing. What happen to the map of station main page. This website will be very difficult for lay person to use. I see no improvement in this design. I suggest going back to old web page design.
