Has anyone had success flashing sensorstation firmware lately. I have had it work flawlessly and had it fail at exactly the same spot (rpiboot command console launches, but does not go away on sensorstation startup). Of course there are large gaps in time between success and failure, so I cannot debug. I have tried uninstalling the rpiboot driver and it does not help. I have downloaded the latest versions of all and have no luck.
nevermind… It was a microUSB cable issue. I have also noted that it must be plugged into a powered USB plug even though the unit has 110V AC plug to 12V DC power in place.

IIRC the SS switches between USB client / USB host mode by detecting power on the USB port. So it’s not drawing power from the USB cable, just detecting.
I’ve had this same issue on 3/10 of my V3 SensorStations (same USB port) and the only way I was able to fix it was to swap the Raspberry Pi to a different unit where it could recognize the USB and take the update.
