Hi All,
I’m actively seeking feedback on the Offshore Motus Guidance for Deploying Motus Stations on Offshore Wind Turbines and Buoys. This series of interrelated products was developed and released in 2023 by a team of collaborators with funding from New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) to guide and inform deployment of Motus offshore in relation to offshore wind energy development in the U.S. Atlantic and was intended to be a living document.
A working group within the Regional Wildlife Science Collaborative (RWSC) Bird and Bat Subcommittee, the Bird and Bat Tracking Working Group, is working on an update to be released by the end of the year. Revisions will focus on incorporating community feedback and updating standards to enhance the functionality of the guidance.
The working group invites and welcomes feedback from Motus users of the existing guidance documents until 30 September, 2025. Written feedback can be provided directly on the working drafts as comments or suggested edits. Please reach out to Zoe.korpi@briwildlife.org with comments and questions or to set up a call to discuss the guidance document and planned updates.
Any perspectives from those who have used the documents or generally as Motus users would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!
