Suppose I install a SensorStation somewhere and I give it an outgoing internet connection. Is this enough for the SS to upload its data (measured tag data and the status of the SS) to the CTT server? Or does it need to handshake/do something else that requires it to access packets from the CTT server? I hadn’t really considered that only an outgoing connecting might not be sufficient for a SS to upload data, so I really hope someone here knows the details of the uploading process.
Lynn, I’m 99% sure that the answer is yes, but as I don’t operate a SS I can’t check. It’s certainly true for SGs.
You should be able to confirm this on the CTT portal for that station. Or on Motus.org if there is an active deployment record for it.
