Automatic and manual uploads are being periodically throttled

Hello everyone, as part of our effort to get through the large amount of backlogged data files, we have been periodically throttling automatic uploads from V2 SG, primarily disabling processing for them overnight and on weekends. This has been helping to get through the backlog, but it could create some confusion when troubleshooting, particularly when referring to the SG hub at sensorgnome.net. The outage pattern below is mostly related to this periodic throttling.

This is also affecting manual uploads. During periods of throttling, any attempt to upload data will stall on the “verifying file” stage.

As far as I can see, this seems to affect manual uploading of data as well. A label is shown on the upload page at motus.org:

“Your credentials did not authenticate on the Sensorgnome service”

I have never seen this message before when uploading, and sure enough, I can select a zip-file but the verification does not work/times out/crashes (i.e. nothing happens).

Is there anything I can do here?

Arne Andersson

Hi @Arne_Andersson lots of other people have reported this error recently. It does seem possible it’s related to the throttling, but I’m not certain.

Update: the issue with verifying files is indeed related to the throttling. We hope to have this resolved before long.

Hi all, is there any update on this? I’m struggling with the same issue, still.

Hi Lucy, unfortunately what progress has been made is not keeping up with the new data coming in. There is still no ETA on when it will be resolved.
